Key Responsibilities:
* Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm systems infrastructure
* Running low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work
* Installing cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct
* Conducting tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational
* Troubleshooting issues with cable networks and fire alarm panels
* Ensuring all installations and repairs comply with NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72
* Collaborating with team members on pre-installation design and planning
* Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all work performed
* Adhering to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter, our customers, or OSHA
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in field installation within security environments: Fire Alarm and/or Intrusion
* Current and valid state-required Physical Security and/or Life Safety license
* In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards, especially NFPA 70 and 72
* Experience reading blueprints and site maps
* Comfortable working at heights of 20-60 feet using lifts
* Ability to work in cramped spaces and operate BOOM or scissor lifts
* Proficiency with smartphones, computers, email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office
* Possession of basic PPE and reliable transportation during the initial training period
* Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years)
* Availability for extensive travel (2-6 weeks at a time) and flexible shifts including nights and on-call work
Preferred Qualifications:
* NICET Level 2 certification or State-required licenses
* Knowledge of cabling infrastructure and conduit installation
* Ability to identify independent colors and learn color codes

We are seeking a Commercial Fire Alarm Technician to support the continued growth of our life safety operations in the Raleigh–Durham market.
This role will focus on installing and troubleshooting of commercial fire alarm systems in new construction environments and/or exciting clients. The technician will work alongside field crews to ensure systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes.

Working with the Branch Management Team, ensures company standards, processes, and tools are used and applied. Ensures the development and training of the sales workforce on established processes, tools, and standards.
Fosters teaming environment between the different selling segments to maximize all our resources in the geography. Leads by example when working with solutions, systems and service operations team members.
Consistent with the branch business plan, provides sales focus and sets aggressive individual and team goals. Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives regarding human resource management.
Executes the sales staffing plan for the assigned local geography. Working with the Branch Management team, recruits, hires, and retains Building Technologies & Solutions sales force. Prepares and delivers clear performance expectations, performance reviews and development plans for direct reports teaming with the appropriate matrix functional manager. Ensures a consistent level of coaching, which includes: monthly ‘one-on-one(s)’, observed and unobserved calls, field opportunity reviews, and financial reviews. Directs performance management of sales personnel.
Ensures compliance with state, local and federal legal requirements and leads the local office with the highest business ethics.
Represent Johnson Controls as a leader in the local community. Participates in local industry and community activities (trade shows, college recruiting, professional organizations, etc.)
Required

* Experience with contracting, understand S&OP, construction legalities, procurement, functional support structures, change management

* 30% travel between markets is required.
* Conducting seller 1-on-1’s on a monthly basis
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $97,000 - $134,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account project, quarterly, and annual margin. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
