What To Expect
We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team at GFTX Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems and other fire protection systems, including sprinklers and special hazard equipment. This role ensures all systems are fully compliant with local codes, regulations, and company standards.

What You'll Bring

RSCS / MRC is a full-service commercial and industrial refrigeration construction and service company with 25+ years in business and operations across 10 states in the western U.S. We’re hiring Commercial Low-Temperature Refrigeration Technicians who enjoy hands-on troubleshooting, take pride in clean workmanship, and like working on a variety of equipment brands across a broad customer base.
Key Responsibilities
* Troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial low-temperature refrigeration systems (rack systems, cases, walk-ins, freezers, remote condensing units, etc.)
* Diagnose and repair electrical systems, controls, and sensors (defrost, temperature control, pressure control, alarms)
* Perform compressor, fan motor, and component replacements (valves, solenoids, TXVs/EEVs, contactors, relays, etc.)
* Locate leaks, perform refrigerant recovery/evacuation/charging, and complete repairs safely and correctly
* Support start-ups, system checks, and performance verification after repairs
* Communicate clearly with customers and document work performed (service notes, parts used, follow-up needs)
* Participate in on-call rotation and travel as needed

* EPA 608 certification (Universal preferred)
* Comfortable working independently in customer facilities and following safety procedures

We use a tiered hourly pay scale across RSCS and MRC for technician roles: Apprentice/Entry $20–$30, Technician (Early-Career) $30–$40, Journeyman (Mid-Level) $40–$50, and Senior/Field Supervisor $50–$65 (top end reserved for highest-level Senior Ammonia Technicians and Field Supervisors). Starting pay is based on verified experience, certifications, and job scope (including on-call/travel as applicable) and may vary by location due to local market and cost of living; hiring managers set the final starting rate within the appropriate tier. We also offer a robust benefits package.
