Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Fire Suppression Technician for an on-site role located in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area. The Fire Suppression Technician will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire extinguishers, and kitchen hoods in commercial, and industrial settings. Specific duties include testing systems for functionality and compliance, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting and repairing various suppression equipment and components. Job Summary
VFS is seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Service Technician to support our Fire Alarm Services team. This role is responsible for inspecting, testing, servicing, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
The ideal candidate has hands on fire alarm service experience, a strong technical foundation, and the ability to work independently while providing high quality customer service. This position reports to the Fire Alarm Service Manager and supports customers across the assigned service territory.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
* Inspect, test, service, troubleshoot, program, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems in compliance with NFPA 72, manufacturer specifications, and local codes
* Perform scheduled testing including annual, semi‑annual, quarterly, and acceptance testing
* Program, modify, and verify fire alarm control panels and system devices to ensure proper operation
* Assist with system updates related to device replacement, system modifications, and code compliance
* Identify system issues, document deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions
* Complete clear, accurate, and timely inspection, testing, and service reports
