Role Overview
We are looking for a fire alarm & suppression level II who has a passion for the customer and life safety. The perfect candidate has experience in the fire protection industry and can successfully perform inspections, installation, testing, service and repairs of fire alarm systems, engineered and pre-engineered suppression systems. This includes confirming compliance with applicable life-safety and fire-safety requirements as mandated by standards, codes, manufacturers requirements, federal, state and local ordinances, customer requirements, and the expectations and requirements of the company. This is a fast-paced and demanding role with high visibility within the company.

What You Will Be Doing
* Perform installation, inspection and testing of all types of fire alarm and engineered and pre-engineered suppression systems at the required frequencies in accordance with the requirements and instructions contained in the applicable NFPA codes and standards
* Perform programming, testing, final inspections, as-built drawings and customer training for installations. Troubleshoot and perform service and repair of fire alarm and engineered and pre-engineered suppression systems
* Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations either electronically or manually
* Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow up, quotes, questions, or concerns
* Maintain vehicle in clean and orderly fashion. Keep vehicle stocked with parts, equipment, and supplies, necessary to perform the job
* Maintain equipment and tools necessary to safely perform job
* Evaluate customer site for additional equipment and services that customer may require
* Work in compliance with the Company's safety program
* Perform on-site and/or off-site (phone) emergency troubleshooting of fire alarm and suppression systems
* Discuss deficiencies noted with customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
* There may be situations which require work on nights, weekends, and/or holidays. For some locations, these demands will be more frequent or required than others. Discuss this with your Manager
* Must be comfortable with heights, working on ladders or lifts, or in confined spaces
Qualifications
* A minimum of 2 years of fire detection and signaling systems experience which MUST include:
* At least 12 months of fire alarm systems experience, including alarm and detection, notification, sprinkler monitoring, and interfaces and controls for agent releasing suppression systems (either agent or water-based systems) in any of the following roles/functions:
* installation
* inspection
* testing
* commissioning
* technical system estimating and sales
* plans preparation
* maintenance
* Must possess the ability to calculate basic math including fractions, decimals and percentages
* Must possess the knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions, operating systems and software applications such as Windows, Word, Apple IOS, Android and Outlook. In addition, required to learn and use industry specific devices and software
* Knowledge and understanding of low voltage and wiring. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
* Must currently have a valid U.S. driver's license

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Overtime may be required, and the number of hours may vary based on work location. May be exposed to all kinds of work environments. Job Summary
Piper Fire Protection’s Clearwater, FL branch is seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Technician to join our team. This role involves installation, service, and inspection of fire suppression systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and delivering exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
* Installation, Service, and Inspections of Fire Suppression systems.
* Completion of all necessary paperwork associated with service and inspections.
* Communicate with customers before and after each service call to explain work performed.
* Foster positive customer relationships through clear communication, professionalism, and responsive service.
* Identify opportunities to recommend additional products or services that align with customer needs and system requirements.
* Ensure timely completion of assigned jobs.

Senior Fire Alarm Service & Inspection Technician (FAL Required)
A growing fire protection company in the DFW area is hiring a Senior Fire Alarm Service & Inspection Technician focused on service, diagnostics, and system troubleshooting.
We are looking for a seasoned, high-level technician who takes pride in their craft, can solve complex problems in the field, and operates with a high level of ownership and independence.
This is a technical, hands-on role — not a management track position.
What We’re Looking For
* Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL) – Required
* 5+ years of hands-on fire alarm experience
* Strong background in service, troubleshooting, and repairs
* Ability to program, diagnose, and repair multiple fire alarm systems
* Experience with systems such as Notifier, Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, EST, Bosch (or similar)
* Strong understanding of NFPA codes and compliance
* Proven ability to handle complex service calls independently
Plus Factors:
* NICET Fire Alarm certifications
* Experience with BDA / ERRCS systems

* Execute service calls, inspections, and repairs at a high level
* Accurately diagnose issues and provide solutions confidently
* Communicate clearly with clients and internal team
* Participate in on-call rotation
* Handle emergency service and overtime as needed

Key Responsibilities:
* Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm systems infrastructure
* Running low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work
* Installing cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct
* Conducting tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational
* Troubleshooting issues with cable networks and fire alarm panels
* Ensuring all installations and repairs comply with NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72
* Collaborating with team members on pre-installation design and planning
* Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all work performed
* Adhering to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter, our customers, or OSHA
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in field installation within security environments: Fire Alarm and/or Intrusion
* Current and valid state-required Physical Security and/or Life Safety license
* In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards, especially NFPA 70 and 72
* Experience reading blueprints and site maps
* Comfortable working at heights of 20-60 feet using lifts
* Ability to work in cramped spaces and operate BOOM or scissor lifts
* Proficiency with smartphones, computers, email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office
* Possession of basic PPE and reliable transportation during the initial training period
* Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years)
* Availability for extensive travel (2-6 weeks at a time) and flexible shifts including nights and on-call work
Preferred Qualifications:
* NICET Level 2 certification or State-required licenses
* Knowledge of cabling infrastructure and conduit installation
* Ability to identify independent colors and learn color codes
* Experience with multiple Intrusion and Fire system manufacturers

Total Safety is looking for a Fire Technician II to join their safety conscious team! The Fire Technician II provides service inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair for fire equipment which typically includes but is not limited to portable and semi-portable fire extinguishers, lifesaving equipment, fire and gas detection systems, foam systems, dry chemical systems, navigational aids, gaseous suppression systems and sprinkler systems.

Essential Duties:
Performs shop service and/or field inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire equipment which may include customer portable and fixed fire extinguisher systems and components, lifesaving and navigation aid equipment, fixed breathing air systems, fire detection and alarm system components, fixed gas detection systems components and foam, dry chemical, gaseous fire suppression systems and components and water-based fire protection equipment.
Completes all documentation associated with inspection and repair in a timely and accurate manner and obtains signature from customer so that proper invoicing and documentation can be provided to customer. This includes all inspection and repair documents, job cost billable expenses and time sheets.
Conducts detailed visual inspections and system functional tests of various systems and equipment to report any deficiencies and corrective action recommendations to customer.
Conducts pre-job, job update and post job completion briefs.
Assists others in facility including stocking shelves with clean, tested, and ready to use equipment and pulling, staging, and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery.
Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Performs basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.
Operates electronic safety and communications systems including portable gas monitors, hand-held radios, and other related equipment.
Rigs-up and uses a wide range of safety equipment including retractable lifelines, harnesses, and lanyards.
Trained, authorized, and certified to work both onshore and offshore exploration and production.
Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of all regulatory standards pertaining to assigned responsibilities, i.e., State, OSHA, and NFPA regulations, etc.
Must have knowledge of applicable Code of Federal Regulations, Coast Guard and ABS regulations if offshore.
Installations of Plant Wide Evacuation systems, Gas Detection systems, experience in installing conduit (both rigid and emt) and wire pulling.
Proficiency in the care and use of all sites specific, facility and customer required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Trained in Respiratory Protection and fully certified to wear respiratory breathing equipment (Fit Tested) where required by facility.
Forklift experience is considered a plus. Must pass internal forklift certification as required.
Must be able to obtain TWIC card and pass any required safety testing to include classes such as Basic Plus, OSHA 10 hour, etc.
May be required to obtain a driver’s license with a DOT hazardous endorsement if required by facility.
Must have State Fire Licenses (if required by State) or pass NICET Level II testing (if State Licensing not required) in TWO disciplines of fire protection or have NICET 3 in one fire protection discipline for appropriate areas of service prior to performing work within those areas.
Working Environment:
Shop, indoor and outdoor industrial environments. May be frequently exposed to cold, hot, wet, humid, outside weather conditions and vibration. Works in customer environment. May be exposed to high pressure, chemicals, and traffic. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Educational Requirements:
High School diploma or GED and at least two (2) years of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery or related industry. Associate degree in science or technical area strongly preferred.
