Position Summary

Indiana Alarm is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Security & Fire Systems Sales & Design Specialist to support both revenue growth and system development. This role combines sales responsibility with system design, requiring the ability to both build client relationships and develop accurate, complete, and installation-ready system proposals.

The Sales & Design Specialist will support the sales process, develop system designs, and deliver complete proposals that clearly reflect customer requirements.

This role is ideal for someone who can balance customer interaction, technical thinking, and accountability for complete and accurate proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Responsibilities

* Generate and manage new business opportunities through leads, referrals, and outreach.
* Build relationships with residential and commercial clients.
* Present solutions and proposals to customers in a clear and professional manner.
* Follow up with prospects and close sales.
* Maintain consistent communication throughout the sales cycle.

Responsibilities

* Develop complete system designs for:
* Intrusion alarm systems
* Fire alarm systems
* Video surveillance (CCTV)
* Access control systems
* Translate customer needs and owner-provided information into:
* Floor plan markups
* Device placement and counts
* Bills of materials (BOMs)
* Scope of work and system descriptions
* Ensure all proposals are complete, accurate, and ready for installation.
* Identify missing or unclear information and proactively follow up with the owner before finalizing designs.
* Maintain organized design files and documentation for each project.

Qualifications

* Experience in security, fire, low-voltage, or construction-related industry sales.
* Ability to learn and apply system design principles.
* Strong attention to detail — accuracy is critical in this role.
* Ability to read or learn to read floor plans and site layouts.
* Strong internal/external communication and organizational skills.
* Self-motivated with the ability to manage both sales and technical responsibilities.

Required Experience

* Prior experience with alarm, fire, CCTV, or access control systems.
* Background in installation, service, or system configuration.
* Familiarity with code requirements (NFPA, local fire code, etc.).
* Experience with design software or willingness to learn.

Performance Expectations

* Consistent generation and closing of new business.
* Accurate, complete, and professional system designs.
* Reduction in missing information and installation issues.
* Strong collaboration with owner and operations team.
* High level of accountability for both sales results and design quality.

Compensation Structure

* Base salary + commission
* Commission tied to both closed revenue and project accuracy
