Position: Safety Manager – Field Operations

We are looking for a driven and knowledgeable Safety Manager to lead the creation, execution, and ongoing enhancement of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies across a dynamic field and operations-based organization. This key leadership role is responsible for building and maintaining a proactive safety program that supports a productive workplace and promotes safety excellence across all teams.

The ideal candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to assess risk, identify hazards, and implement safety measures that align with both industry standards and regulatory guidelines. This person will also be responsible for leading training programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reinforcing a company-wide culture of safety and accountability.

Location Requirement: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Midland, TX or Odessa, TX.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Safety Culture

* Conduct regular safety assessments of field and operational environments to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
* Champion safety-first initiatives and drive a consistent safety mindset throughout the organization.
* Manage and monitor the implementation of the organization’s HSE systems and programs.
* Serve as a subject matter expert on HSE matters, offering guidance to field personnel and leadership teams.
* Facilitate in-person safety meetings and maintain records of all safety-related activities.
* Deliver safety training sessions and maintain certification tracking for field staff.
* Conduct field audits to proactively identify and mitigate safety risks.
* Lead investigations into incidents, analyze contributing factors, and recommend corrective actions.
* Maintain accident and incident records in alignment with legal and organizational policies.

HSE Program Execution

* Oversee the complete HSE program lifecycle including client HSE interface, data tracking, risk analysis, worksite audits, and training.
* Maintain open communication between field teams and leadership regarding safety issues and developments.
* Develop and present safety materials and reports in a clear, engaging, and actionable manner.
* Provide coaching and performance feedback on safety-related behaviors and responsibilities.

Regulatory Compliance & Administration

* Interpret and apply safety regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.) to support organizational compliance efforts.
* Ensure appropriate availability and use of protective equipment and safety tools.
* Manage HSE reporting obligations and documentation accuracy.
* Conduct internal and third-party audits to uphold compliance standards.
* Maintain and organize training records to ensure all team members meet safety qualification standards.
* Collaborate across departments to elevate awareness and consistency in safe work practices.

Qualifications

* 5+ years in a safety leadership role within the energy or field service industry, preferably in upstream oil and gas (completion or production).
* Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to field sites and company facilities.
* OSHA 30 – General Industry certification required.
* Minimum 8 hours of incident investigation training.
* Hands-on experience managing HSE platforms such as ISNetworld and Veriforce.
* Strong knowledge of federal safety regulations and best practices.
* Proven ability to perform and document risk assessments.
* Clear and effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
* Confident presenter, able to facilitate meetings and coach on corrective actions.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
