Safety Manager – Construction (Multiple Project Sites)

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to provide oversight and ensure safety compliance across multiple active construction projects. This role is responsible for monitoring field activities, enforcing safety standards, and supporting project teams in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide safety oversight across multiple construction sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contract requirements
* Monitor adherence to all applicable OSHA standards and site-specific safety procedures
* Conduct daily field safety inspections and prepare detailed safety reports
* Review contractor safety documentation including JHAs, fall protection plans, lift plans, excavation plans, and other high-risk activity procedures
* Participate in construction meetings and lead safety discussions, including toolbox talks and hazard planning
* Track and report safety observations, incidents, and corrective actions
* Review and analyze incident reports and support safety investigations and lessons learned
* Ensure compliance with insurance program requirements (e.g., OCIP)
* Conduct safety orientations and support ongoing safety training efforts
* Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and field teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks
* Support program-level safety reporting and analysis

Qualifications

* Minimum 10 years of commercial construction experience in the U.S.
* At least 5 years of experience in California construction environments
* Experience overseeing safety across multiple active project sites
* Strong background in demolition, renovation, and new construction
* Experience with hazardous materials (e.g., asbestos, lead abatement)
* Proven ability to manage safety compliance, reporting, and field enforcement
* Experience working closely with project managers, contractors, and field teams
* Strong written and verbal communication skills

Certifications (Required)

* One of the following (active and current):
* CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)
* SMS (Safety Management Specialist)
* CSMC (Certified Safety Manager Construction)
* Current First Aid / CPR / AED Certification

Preferred Qualifications

* Degree in Construction Management, Safety, Engineering, or related field
* OSHA 500 Certification
* 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
* Additional safety certifications are a plus
