Position Overview: Silco is seeking a skilled Kitchen Suppression Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing kitchen fire suppression systems in commercial kitchens, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations. If you do not currently have an Ohio Pre-Engineered license or Portable Fire Extinguisher license, you will receive up to 2 months of training and will be required to pass the Pre-Engineered and Fire Extinguishers state certification exams and prove proficiency within those 2 months. Responsibilities * Inspection and Testing: * Conduct routine inspections and testing of kitchen suppression systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with regulatory requirements. * Maintenance and Repair: * Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on kitchen suppression systems, including exit and emergency lighting, and portable fire extinguishers. * Troubleshooting: * Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with kitchen suppression systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to restore functionality. * Documentation: * Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance activities, and repairs performed on kitchen systems. * Customer Service: * Communicate effectively with customers, providing technical assistance, answering questions, and addressing concerns related to kitchen suppression systems. * Training: * If you haven’t already, you will be required to pass the Pre-Engineered and Fire Extinguisher state certification exams. * Silco offers outstanding training to prepare employees for their roles and ensure they earn required state certifications. * Compliance: * Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing kitchen fire suppression systems. Qualifications: * Technical and mechanical knowledge including experience using different types as tools (ex. wrenches, plyers, screwdrivers, drills, etc.) * Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. * Experience with various types of kitchen suppression systems, such as wet chemical, dry chemical, and pre-engineered systems (Preferred, not required). * Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to effectively diagnose and resolve technical issues. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Valid driver's license and clean driving record. * Silco is willing to hire and train a highly motivated individual with no prior experience for this position.
