We are currently seeking a Fire Alarm Technician who is looking for a long-term, rewarding career and the opportunity to grow with our company while protecting the communities we serve.
Position Overview
This position requires relocation to Juneau, Alaska. Housing and relocation assistance are available for the right candidate. The role includes travel, including to remote communities sometimes using unique transportation methods such as small planes and boats. All travel costs and per diem are covered by the company.
Primary Responsibilities
• Install, commission, and expand fire alarm systems
• Perform system modifications as required
• Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance
• Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems
• Identify code violations and non-conformance issues
• Make recommendations for system installations, upgrades, and repairs
• Accurately complete electronic inspection reports and documentation
Experience with additional company services (or a willingness to learn – we provide all training) is a plus, including fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, suppression systems, and other life safety services.
Earning potential is based on workload – your salary is only limited by how much you are willing to work.
Required Experience & Certifications
• Minimum of two (2) years cumulative experience in fire alarm signaling systems
• Must have passed or be able to pass NICET Level II (Fire Alarm Systems) Note: The State of Alaska requires the test to be passed but does not require full NICET certification
Additional Qualifications
• Ability to pass criminal background and driving record checks
• Enrollment in an FAA and DOT drug & alcohol testing program
• Must pass drug testing for all federally illegal drugs, including marijuana
• Strong customer service skills
• Reliable, punctual attendance
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete electronic forms accurately
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and perform physical job functions, including:
• Climbing ladders
• Working overhead
• Squatting, kneeling, bending, crawling, and maneuvering in tight spaces
• Availability to work based on customer needs, including evenings and weekends when required
