Westville, NJ 2026-04-16 JOB SUMMARY The primary function of this position is to sell new inspection contracts for fire sprinklers, fire alarms, backflow preventers, fire extinguishers, kitchen hood, and special hazard systems. This position reports directly to the Inspection Sales Representative. This job requires the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment with a focus on sales, prospecting for new clients, and customer service. It will require travel to potential/existing customer sites. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Establish contracts and qualify potential buyers of inspection contracts by various methods such as telephone calls, scheduling sales calls, and cold calling to determine customer needs. * Responsible for follow-up contact with all new company installed sprinkler jobs to sell inspection contract work. * Prepare renewal quotes for existing customers as required. * Conduct building surveys to gather information to prepare quotes and gain customer understanding of company service offerings. * Develop and maintain an active proposal backlog that supports the assigned sales budget. * Close sufficient sales to meet sales budget. * Maintain correct and complete records utilizing Salesforce. * Submit all required correspondence in an accurate and timely manner. * Attend Inspection Department meetings. * Develop and maintain an ongoing and positive working relationship with the Service Manager, Administrative Assistants, Field Coordinators, Inspectors, and Service Technicians. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties And Responsibilities * Live Our Values! * Understand Total Fire Protection’s strategy, business, and growth initiatives. * Possesses the knowledge that is relevant to interpret the servicing and maintenance of Fire Alarm systems. * Ability to provide a proficient ability to identify and restore system trouble conditions, understanding all code requirements, manufacturer’s specifications, and the general standards of customer service practice. * Ability to conduct site surveys, system inspections and identify deficiencies as necessary and the ability to write service tickets as required. * Knowledge as it applies to corresponding systems, including but not limited to, Fire Alarm and relevant detection and notification systems. * Must be familiar with NFPA 72, including recent updates, and the intent of the code. * Familiar with NYC and Long Island local building codes and their fire alarm code requirements * Has general knowledge of fire systems, including fire detection, mass notification, fire dynamics, smoke management, egress codes, and egress systems. * Possesses general knowledge of fire alarm system installations for varied applications * Candidate should be able to orally communicate technical issues to supervisors, managers, project engineers, contractors, and field technicians as well as people with a nontechnical background. * Candidate must possess writing skills, capable of writing reports, and facilitating effective internal and external communication. Required Skills And Experience * Five (5) + years of experience in Fire Alarm Service-related work. * Five (5) + years proven experience in Fire Alarm Systems, both conventional and addressable types. * Knowledge of interior and exterior wiring and the repair of electrical equipment and circuits. * Five (5) years of experience in servicing low voltage electrical systems, including but not limited to Fire/Life Safety systems, Security, CCTV, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems. * Certifications (preferred) are to include but are not limited to NICET certification in Fire Alarm; Manufacturer’s Programming Certifications; FDNY S98 Certificate of Fitness. * Collaborates and provides support to TFP team members as well as clients, includes interfacing with Building/Fire Officials and contractors as necessary. * Excellent Electrical Problem Solving and Troubleshooting Skills. * Computer fluency in Windows, Excel, and in all other Microsoft products. * Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements. * Ability to travel depending on assigned geographic location. * Ability to be available for Emergency On-Call Services as needed.
