CodeGreen is seeking a highly experienced Director of Director of Fire and Life Safety to lead and grow our fire and life-safety consulting practice. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys both technical problem-solving and building a business.
The Director will serve as lead consultant on fire protection systems and FDNY regulatory compliance, while also helping to expand the service line, develop key client relationships, and manage and grow a high-performing team. This role combines in-the-weeds project work with the opportunity to shape and scale a key offering within a successful and growing organization.
A Day in the life of Director, Fire & Life Safety
Lead and Grow the Practice
* Help define and execute the growth strategy for CodeGreen’s Fire & Life Safety consulting services
* Build and mentor a team of expediters, inspectors, and project managers
* Develop and improve scalable processes and operating standards for the division
* Contribute to business development, including identifying new opportunities and supporting client relationships
Serve as Senior Technical Advisor
* Act as lead consultant on fire protection systems and FDNY regulatory compliance projects
* Advise clients on approvals, inspections, and navigating complex compliance challenges
* Support fire alarm consulting, pre-inspections, and coordination of FDNY inspections
Oversee Client Projects
* Guide FDNY filings, permitting, and expediting efforts
* Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners to ensure compliance milestones are met
What You Bring To The CodeGreen Team
* 10+ years experience in fire alarm systems, fire protection engineering, or related life safety work
* Deep familiarity with FDNY permitting, inspection, and regulatory processes
* Strong knowledge of NYC Fire Code and Building Code
* Experience working directly with FDNY plan examiners and inspectors
* Ability to read and interpret fire protection drawings, and technical documents
* Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams
Preferred Credentials
* NICET Level IV in Fire Alarm Systems
* PE (Fire Protection) or related engineering license
* PMP or similar project management certification
* Experience supporting TCO and final CO sign-offs
* Background in large-scale commercial or high-rise projects

Fire Alarm Inspection Technician
The Fire Alarm Inspection Technician's duties include testing and inspection of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems and as well as preventative maintenance with knowledge of multiple manufacturers’ products. What Your Day Is Like
* Completing accurate system installations, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections while complying with NFPA codes and local regulations
* Installing, wiring, and mounting panels, detectors, strobes, pull stations, and other related components
* Diagnosing the source of problems, such as false alarms or wiring faults, and completing the appropriate repairs
* Performing routine inspections and tests to ensure systems are working properly
* Leading less experienced technicians as needed

Basic Qualifications:
